A ONE IN 50 MILLION CRUSTACEAN

PORTLAND, Maine — According to the Lobster Institute at the University of Maine, a one in 50 million lobster was caught earlier this month. The half-orange, half-brown lobster was caught by Jeff Edwards and brought into the Ship to Shore Lobster Co. in Owl’s head.  It was then agreed that the glorious two toned crustacean would be surrendered to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.
According to the Lobster Institute, the albino lobster is the only lobster to be considered more rare….One in 100 million.
What’s even more interesting is that lobsters have their own institute.
